About the job

You will be responsible for leading the activities of the teams involved in performing Treasury transactions processing, confirmations, settlements, breaks resolutions, as well as trade regulatory reporting.

You will support the respective business line teams on day-to-day operational tasks, and will ensure all operational issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner and concerns regarding operational processes are addressed. You will partner internal key stakeholders to drive change and develop the team.

In Treasury Transactions Processing, the products supported include: Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Market (MM), Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), Equity Total Return Swaps (TRS), Fixed Income (Bonds/Repos), Futures, Credit Default Swaps (CDS) and Euro Medium Term Notes (EMTN), etc.

You will ensure the timely and accurate processing and settlement of transactions/ operations. You will ensure confirmations are matched in the systems and payments are triggered prior to cut-off times. You will resolve unconfirmed transactions and discrepancies, and ensure all enquiries related to pre and post-execution are effectively managed. You will conduct completeness checks at the end of the day for regulatory transaction reporting, and ensure that all reconciliation breaks are resolved in a timely manner.

You will ensure trade regulatory reporting (EMIR, MAS etc) are completed accurately and on a timely basis and will drive industry testings (MAS, HKMA etc.) as well as ensure the successful completion. You will validate the daily, monthly, weekly, quarterly and ad hoc reports and ensure that the team is compliant with regulatory and internal requirements.

You will also implement good practices and controls in addressing all related Operations incidents and issues, as well as close operational gaps with feasible solutions. You will ensure that operational procedures are updated.

You will lead and manage teams responsible for operational support across the Treasury products. You will instill ownership and accountability within the Operations teams and will oversee the training and development strategies for the Operations team members. You will be responsible for the management of resources among the teams to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness of the function.

You will provide coaching and mentoring to employees and encourage continuous professional development. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, business partners and stakeholders. You will promote communication between colleagues to maintain a positive work environment.

You will develop plans for continuous improvements that mitigate or adequately address operational risks (i.e. automation of processes). You will assist the Head of Operations to evaluate emerging industry trends and design appropriate operating models, taking into consideration the overall business strategy and long-term transformation plan.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Possess at least 10 years of relevant work experience in the banking sector
  • Possess good team leadership abilities, influencing and motivational skills
  • Able to work closely with team members to ensure objectives and goals are achieved
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate good analytical skills; methodical and achievement-oriented
