Your main responsibility is to play a key supporting role to more senior Investment Advisors of the team.

A key part of the role involves getting pricing information on financial markets instruments. For example, working closely with the fixed income trading desk to source for bid/offer on specific bonds for clients, which can be using a structured product “pricer” to obtain various structured products pricing information according to specific parameters, as requested by clients. Such products can be commonly traded FCN, ELN, accumulators, and so on.

You will also be involved in the placement of trades across the different instruments including stocks, ETFs, bonds, FX, structured products, and mutual funds. Given the broad nature of the role, you will have good opportunities to pick up knowledge of the various financial products and investments. You will also prepare presentation materials for clients, as required.

Providing key support to the IA team, you will coordinate the logistics of the regular investment calls with clients and also manage the internal stakeholders of the Bank. As you gain experience to become a full-fledged Investment Advisor, you will be involved in providing daily/ regular proactive investment advice and solutions to clients.

You will need to be familiar with the execution of the different investment instruments available on the Bank’s platform and be sensitive to the general market risks that may adversely impact the performance of client investments. As some clients may be highly leveraged, a good understanding of margin credit risk will be helpful in helping them to manage risky situations arising from price movements vs collateral.

As a Junior Investment Advisor, you are a strong team worker who is always helping other members of the team, while at the same time taking the opportunity to learn the art of investments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • CFA qualifications or equivalent is not a necessity, but an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of work experience, preferably with a private bank
  • Specific experience on financial products will be useful, as well as client engagement experience
  • Demonstrates aspiration to progress to become a full-fledged Investment Advisor in 3 – 5 years
  • Must be detailed-oriented to ensure trades are accurately and precisely placed in accordance to client instructions
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work on flexible hours (occasionally during European hours 12 – 9pm)
  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in other languages (Mandarin, Hindi, Bahasa, etc.) is a plus
