Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will discharge the (Compliance Officer) accountabilities set out in the Handbook by proactively assisting the management in identifying and containing compliance risk; monitoring, reporting and certification; fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with Regulators.
You will assist the line management in their responsibility for complying with all material Relevant Regulations, including the provision of advice on compliance issues. This includes signing off on new products, services and lines of business, and reviewing relevant advertising/ marketing material for the bank. You will be largely involved in approving new KYC profiles and AML monitoring. You will also assist the head of department with aspects of compliance management; undertaking ongoing compliance reviews and monitoring (e.g. cross border issues, sanctions and other compliance risks requiring monitoring); product reviews and approvals, including product/ marketing materials; as well as project managing Group compliance initiatives from time to time.
Pre-requisites:
- Business/ accounting background
- 8 – 12 years in financial services, with at least 3 years in private banking
- Prior audit/ internal control/ compliance experience
- Hands on experience in private banking compliance with broad exposure to and knowledge of operational issues and private banking business environment, KYC/ AML best practices and product/ regulatory knowledge
- Regional or international work exposure would be an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization including senior management
