Head of Private Banking

You will be responsible for setting-up and building Private Banking business and will play a key role in the senior management team as an integral member helping the bank achieve its ambitious regional growth plans. 

You will manage a team of Private Bankers in the successful relationship management of a client base, acquisition of new to bank high net worth clients and be instrumental in developing this function to a broader Private Banking offering.  You will penetrate and build a strong network/ relationships with high net worth clientele; formulate local Private Banking business objectives and develop business strategies and plans in relation to the Bank’s overall Wealth Management business goals.  You will work collaboratively with respective Private Banking Heads in the region to develop a pan-Asia private banking strategy within the regulatory framework.  You will work also with other divisions in the bank, pulling together expertise and capabilities to provide customized products and services to clients and win deals.  You will deliver on an agreed revenue budget and build a profitable Private Banking business; put in place a full set of operational and compliance procedures and guidelines Managerial (team/ group responsibilities); and put clients’ needs first by providing superior advice and always acting with the highest level of integrity.

Pre-requisites:

  • Degree holder
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with deep understanding of HNWI’s needs
  • Articulate, professional and able to influence client behaviors by establishing rapport and trust
  • Strong competency in verbal and written communications
  • Confident when dealing with sophisticated clients and complex investment portfolios
  • Possess a strong network of HNWI clientele, with excellent relationship management skills ideally from either business, corporate or institutional banking
  • Proven leadership skills and possess a good business sense and planning abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to manage and work with people at all levels and to tap resources to build synergy
  • Able to identify, generate or cross sell new or existing clients or product opportunities is needed
  • Strong technical skills across investment and commercial banking products
  • Good understanding and successful in business development or advisory services related to wealth planning, investments or investment banking
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Understanding of Private Banking practice within the region is added advantage
